I Cut Off My Sena case!
I love my Sena case on my Axim X50v/Ext Battery. Especially it ages very well, I feel like having an old pair of snickers ..I keep it on all the time including in cradle, with my belt clip and in my Proclip adjustable car mount (seen here!)

But one thing bothers me is the Sena covers most of the front of the Axim, which gives a heavy look overall and hides the Axim nice metal/black look

Other solution would be the Covertec, which is a little too thick, not talking about it does not support my extended battery.

So, yesterday, I went to my local shoe repair shop and have them cut off my Senacase as seen in the attached image. I am very happy with the result. The case now shows more the front of the Axim, while still provides the same protection.

The looks is much enhanced. There is no more the heavy leather surround the front...

Happy camper!...BTW the cut-off is very well done and cost me $5 including tip!

Nice mod Solsie, but how does it not fall away from the top, near the power button, since the leather doesn't go across it anymore?

You did a VERY nice job but I like my sena the way it is, others would like it though.

Actually it holds very well with only the bottom attached.
Eventually, you can cut off and leave a thin leather band on the top (just below the Dell logo). This would have been better!

But with my way, I can take the Axim in/out very easily.

I'd try that but i'm not a fan of cutting up my $40 case that i currently enjoy, but that looks cool, i do wish you could see more of the axim, I know everytime i take it out, i enjoy using it caseless for a few minutes.

I don't know. It just doens't look secure to me. I have a extended battery Sena case too and love it.

I don't have a problem with the top leather part. The problem I have is down at the bottom around the buttons. The leather surronding makes it hard to press the buttons sometimes. I think there are threads where people cut the leather around this area.

A cut I'm considering would be to make a slice at the top so that I could insert the CF GPS card while the case is still close. Not sure this would work since there wouldn't be much material left to hold the flap cover together.

BTW Is that an Ipod skin you have on your Axim? Where could I get this, it looks pretty cool.
