I spend 6 months or so with WMP and .wma files ripped from my CD collection (via PC WMP) and got tired of little functionality / control.
Last weekend I had some free time and by looking through these forums stumbled upon Mortplayer (

I also converted my WMA files to MP3 and replaced the 20 or so CDs on my Axim with those files.
To be honest there didn't seem much difference between WMA and MP3 and as I'm no hifi expert I couldn't begin to tell you the technical differences.
The Mortplayer though is EXCELLENT. I also downloaded the 'dark-glass' skin and it looks really good. The functionality is second to none that I've seen or read about, playlists are easy, individual albums easy, graphic equaliser settings, over a dozen 'pre-sets', an alarm function that means your Axim will wake you up playing a selected track or file......just really cool.
Best part of all IT's ABSOLUTELY FREE..................................
The sound quality is awesome through my headphones.
I'm now looking at a set of 2.1 speakers on e-bay (logitech z-2300) which are 200W in an effort to use my Axim as a remote hifi......
I'd recommend it strongly,
