Case recommendation for left hander
Just got the Axim X51 with a cradle and no accessories. This is a HUGE upgrade
to my plastic Visor Handspring with 8 meg that lasted forever until the screen burned out.

Anyway...I need a recommendation for a case. I'm left handed and have small hands. I need something that will be relatively durable and secure. There are a couple of things in these forums indicating a flip top rather than open book style is better for lefties. Recommendations?

Thanks!

I use a right handed book case (the PDAir metal case) and I am a lefty. It is fine, just a LITTLE awkward at first to hold, but you get used to it. Also, we leftys have an advantage with this case in landscape mode. If you are a righty in landscape mode, the case cover hangs on the bottom, and you cant use it on a keyboard stand and things like that. But when I'm at home/in a stationary environment, I just take my Axim out of the case (it is very easy to take out of the PDAir case)

Other than that, I suggest using innopocket magnum. It is a little hard to take out, and I found it annoying to have the flip top case because it is awkward (I think even more than a lefty using a right handed case) to have the cover hanging during use. And, aluminum is stronger than magnesium. So I suggest PDAir aluminum case, or RHINOSKIN (though I can't really vouch for it because I have never used it)

As for soft cases, I dont really like them because they end up being around the same size as metal cases, and make your PDA feel weird and arent as good protection. The metal cases (if it is a good one) feel slick and secure.

If you want I could sell you my case, because I want to try out a different one.

BY THE WAY, WELCOME TO AXIMSITE!

Hey I'm an old Visor user too!

As a lefty, I prefer the flip top leather case .... I have a Piel Frama for my x30h and like it a lot - very classy looking.

Metal case will protect better, but I just can't love with them opening the wrong way for a lefty. Just my 2˘

I am left handed. I had the aluminum case that opened on the right side and it kept me from holding the X50v well. So I got the magnesium case which opens on the top with a sort of extended hinge so it makes an easel when you open it all the way. It says proporta.com on the case. Well worth it!

Use a flip up case and being lefty or righty doesn't matter.

Thanks for everyone's help. I ordered the magnesium case, but returned it because it didn't allow me to synch in the cradle without removing the axim. I exchanged it for the Sena leather case, which DOES allow synching, provides the protection I wanted , looks sharp, has a magnetic closure and I highly recommend it. Got terrific, prompt service from cases.com. - trudy

thanks
I am a lefty also and I was considering an Innopocket case, but like you said, the PDA has to be removed to sync in cradle, so I was looking at leather cases. The two I have my eye on are the Sena and the Vaja cases.

I was wondering how the magnets on the sena case work, and according to you they work well, so maybe I'll go Sena because it's a lot cheaper than Vaja.
