Charge and Use simultaneously USB Cable
I just bought a dell Axim x50v. I wanted a cable that can charge and use the axim at the same time.

Is this possible?

I bought a cable that has a regular USB connnector on one end, and the Axim connector on the other. Next to the axim connector is a little socket / pin where you can plug in the AC power (kinda defeats the point of a USB cable). I don't need it for synching purposes.

I have also a AC adapter and another Cigarette Adapter that look like this

http://www.boxwave.com/products/wallcharger/index.htm

and

http://www.boxwave.com/products/carc...ar-charger.htm

The AC one is rated at 1 AMP and the Car Cigarette one is rated at 850mAh.

I tried plugging the cable into the unit and it didn't charge. When turned off it does charge, but that is useless on the road.

I also have both a 2200 mah extended battery, and two 1100 mah regular batteries.

So in essence what do I need?

thanks in advance
Tarique

USB only Sync+Charge cables have the possibility for damaging your computer.

But they are available if you don't care about that, check ebay, they appear regularly.

If that is the car adaptor you have you will still need a full sync+charge cable or a proper car -> Axim cable.

I know I have been using a sync-n-charge cable for about a month now and there are definately no problems for me.

I looked through the thread regarding damage and well its not an issue for me because I will be using the cable strictly for charging purposes attached to a wall outlet or cigarette lighter.

Is there a cable that you know that can definately charge and use simultaneously. Do I perhaps have to buy different AC - Cigarrette adapters.

Thanks
