so the palmone universal keyboard +wm5
sorry.. i know this has been brought up a few times but i still have questions. i have an x51v, and im assuming that the palmone universal keyboard will work with it.

i've searched but the most recent threads were from the beginning of this year.

so i know everyone was waiting for wm5 drivers to come out fairly soon. but in the mean time.. people have still been using their palmone keyboards. so i want to know. what drivers have you been using? the one on the website or installation cd? and if that isn't the most up to date driver for wm5.. what issues are you all having with it?

so how many of you are using this particular keyboard with their x51v's?

I had a PalmOne universal wireless keyboard (IR) and it was just a rebadged Think Outside IR keyboard, so if you have any issues have a look at their site for WM5 drivers.

Palm Universal + x51 works fine
I have had both keyboards and they are quite different in appearance - particularly with the dedicated number key row - I use the Palm universal currently with my x51v and it works fine. I am have not been able to get the hot keys to work, but I believe that that is a driver issue. I much prefer the Palm Universal (I bought it off ebay sans instructions, and it did me 15 minutes to figure out how to open it... ) otherwise, great keyboard. Waiting for an updated driver though. ( I wish the original metallic think outside keyboard that I used with my old Visor would be introduced with IR - that was one *amazing* keyboard...)
I use the driver off the PalmOne site.

see this thread..

I have the Palm Universal Keyboard and the Axim X51v. I have had no problems with my keyboard by using the Palm website driver for Pocket PC's. Here it is:

http://www.palm.com/us/support/downl....html#pocketpc

Once you install the driver, make sure you open the newly installed keyboard program on your Axim and check the "enable keyboard" option. Whenever you do a soft reset, you will need to recheck the "enable keyboard" option.

Mine works GREAT!
