Finding the right case
Ok, so I've searched through the posts and read quite a few of the case reviews, but I just can't find the one that's right for me. I just got my 51v this week and am trying to learn all the wonderful things that I can do. I've already downloaded Pocket Breeze, Pocket Weather and Pocket Mechanic on advice I've read on these forums. I'm anxiously awaiting my GlobalSat BT-338 GPS (Good thing my wife doesn't know how much I've spent on my new toy )
I bought the Dell leather flip case, which I like (mostly), but there a couple of things that I don't like. The first thing that I don't like is that there isn't a cutout for the reset button. It doesn't really bother me that I need to do a soft reset occasionally, but it does bother me that I need to take it out of the case in order to do it. The biggest problem is that I can't stand the removable belt clip. I was thinking about getting the Innopocket magnesium case, but it has a removable belt clip too. What I really want is a case like the Dell or the Innopocket that has a fixed belt clip like the one on my cell phone case. I'll wind up carrying my Axim on my belt often, but when I don't I really don't want the button sticking out the back of my case.

Any suggestions?

If you get the free shutdown software, you can do a soft-reset without having to push the button. Sorry, that's all the help I can be!

Hello,

Quite a few people here have punched-in a reset hole in cases that did not have one.

As for your problem with belt clips, I totally understand. I just don't trust them with my toys.

If you're woried about protection, get a hard case, a Rhinoskin or even better a Magnum case (super protection and flipover design), and get a simple holster case to carry you axim IN its hard case. Some of us have adopted this method. I believe it's the best : you get the hard case protection, and the holster portability.

The problem is that, in my case anyway, most times I do a soft reset is because my X50v has frozen. Obviously, a software solution does not work in this case.

Thanks for the idea. I'd rather find a good holster case that I like, but this is probably the best option. I saw another post about a cheap nintendo holster case, so I'll probably go with that and the Magnum case.

That would be my post, actually, so I greatly encourage you to try this option. I sincerely believe it's the best.
