No-name extended batteries any good?
I need to purchase an extended battery and back cover for my X51V. I've seen some battery and cover deals online, but was wondering if the quality of the battery is any good. I know that there are many different makers out there and it might be a crapshoot.

Anyone buy a non-OEM extended battery, and if so was it any good? What brand or vendor? How was the battery cover that came with it? Are the off brands covers any good, or do they cause problems? Any brands of battery or cover to definitely stay away from?

As it is, I typically get one shutdown a day with a message that the battery cover switch had been opened while using the PDA...even though the switch was not touched.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I do recall that certain non -OEM no named batterys leak. If you serach the thread you will find reported incidents. Mugen Batterys are generally very trusted and are the same, if not better quality than OEM batterys. www.lionbatterys.com

Otherwise use at your own risk.

My only experience with non-Dell batteries is the www.global-batteries.com's 2200mAH batteries. I am very happy with them, for some reason mine last 2.5 times as long as the Dell 1100mAH. Though I can't speak about their durability since I only purchased them a little over 3 months ago.

The battery cover switch is a non issue for me since my x50v stays in a aluminum hard case at all times.

I was selling some no name extended batteries for the x50v. They work absolutely amazing. You can get them for cheap from pricegrabber now. http://www.pricegrabber.com/search_g...sterid=9597338

I think some are poor while others are just as good than OEMs. Before buying a no-name battery, I would search or ask to see if anyone has tried it. If you get a favorable response, then go for it!
