Alternate AC Adapter possible?
I am thinking about buying a second AC adapter so I can have one at home and one at work. Is the one from Dell my only option or can I go to Radio Shack (or similar) and pick one up? If I buy from Dell it's $20 +shipping so if I could save a few bucks that might be nice.

Yes, you can use a non-Dell adapter as long as the specs match. BTW, the adapters for all the Axims are the same so if you find a cheap one for an older model, that will work. Just make sure you use the charger adapter which came with your device.

I also use the charger that came with my Cassiopeia E-200. It's all but identical to the Axim AC adapter. Also, View MyPDA for a homemade adapter modified from a 4-port USB hub (powered) and link to Tips from the trenches in my sig for info on my homemade "scorpion" +5VDC regulator. Not for the timid. Note that I use the scorpion with a $10 car power adapter (set to 7.5VDC).

.
E: here's an ebay search link, just as an example. Be sure your prospective adapter can support minimum +5.0VDC at 1.5A out if you want to charge while using your Ax. Should be 2.0 Amps if you have a big battery.

The iPaq AC adapters also work with the Axims (you just need the Axim-specific adapter for the bottom port).

Has anyone paid attention that original dell AC charger is impulsive (it is charging not with current (_____) but with impulses (- - - - - - ). You can see that if You connect a simple LED to the charger - it shimmers)
