I have the Papermate PhD as well. It was the only decent one they had at Staples, and I just wanted a quick soltuion. Paid $8 I believe and have been very pleased with it. Only complaint is that it's a little on the "fat" side, but it's something that I've gotten used to.

I just picked up the Staedtler Gravity Mulit 4 pen at Office Depot for $3.00. It pretty good, although this is my first aftermarket pen/stylus I have ever bought. ;)
