Hi, I just bought an axim and am decidigin which case to buy.

Can most cases handel the 2000 or 3200 batteries, or would I need to buy a new case if I upgraded with the battery. Do most people upgrade batteries or just have extra 1000 ones and leave it to charge in the cradle.

Also, with the case, am I better off getting rid of my cradle and just syncing with a USB cable since I won't have to take it out of my case.

If anyone one has one of these cables that you can sync and connect to power at the same time, let me know if you wanna sell.

I have the extended battery in my x50v, and just bought the Sena case. The case looks, fits great. I am very happy with it. Sena says you can sync on the cradle with the case on, but I only use a sync cable and it works great.

Do you have a separate sync and charging cable, or do yu have that special sync cable that you can attack a power source to as well.. There's a picture of it in the axim startup instructions that dell sends, but they don't ship it and its not on their website. That would be a great thing to have.

It is the same cable to sync and to charge.

I have an extended battery and the Sena extended case. Looks fine. Works in the cradle. I've always liked the Sena cases I've gotten, and this extended one is no exception.

Does it look strange/loose?
Is a Magnesium case available for the X51V with extended battery?

G'day,
There's sticky post under member discounts that links to cases.com. There are a number of cases of different types including those that fit the extended battery.
There is a member discount (see also the member discount rules post underneath the cases post).

I haven't tried these, tho I expect to blow some cash with them on an aluminium case soon.

I haven't found any sellers locally (OZ).

For what its worth, the extended battery sticks out to far to keep the x50v in my pocket. So here's what I have...

1 - 2 1000 batteries (work or when I am carrying my x50v)
1 - 1 Rino case for 1000 (It is one tough case)

1 - cardle and power supply (stays at work)
1 - 3 in one cord (sync, wall charder, car charger - I bring this camping or traveling)
1 - power adaptor plug (I have a battery extender and a second power supply)
1 - sync and charge cable (yes, this is diffrent then the 3 in 0ne - stays at home)

On the weekends, or when I am camping, I am going to use the exteded battery. I got the metal case, because I never use my x50v with out a case (except at my desk at work). The case from extremepda is for those times when I run out of pockets for keys, wallet, cell phone, usb key, PPC - thats happened to me a few times.

I have been using the extended case from Sena with my X50v for over a year. I frequently use it with the regular battery and it does fit a bit loose, but it isn't "sloppy", and it looks fine. The Ax is still secure and easy to use.

Hi Guys, has anyone bought a case in the uk for an Axim 51v? Been looking for days. I have 1100 andd 2200 batts. Would prefer to fit 2200 though. If no luck guess I will have to order from US ... but I want it now! Cheers, Dan.

I ordered the Magnesium case through the Combo special at Proporta.com. Getting it today, can't wait!. Hopefully I will not get rid of the Moire effect on my screen, I am sure it is the Dell Slipcase that put too much pressure sideways that is causing it, if I leave my X51V out of the case for 30 minutes the pattern is gone!

I will get a USB sync/charger cable that I will use from now on. Although it should not be a problem to remove the X51V from the case if I want to use the cradle.

I am currently only using the 1100 battery but will use the 2200 battery only later (don't know why I bought it!)

Sorry, I meant: Hopefully I will now get rid of the Moire effect on my screen.

I got my Magnesium case (very nice!), a little bit slippery but I will have to be more careful handling it. The Moire effect is gone! Even with the Screen Protector I ordered with the case. Screen protector is not the glossy type and looks and writes on it like the original screen.

A few weeks ago, I bought one of those cables from eBay. Look for ChrisMax (I believe) in this forum. He makes and sells those cables off eBay. It has the UBS connection for sync., an AC adaptor plug for charging, and a VGA connector if you need (or just want) to plug your Axim to a computer monitor.

Mu Cradle broke many months ago, so I was really glad to get this cable because my sync cable only trickle-charged the Axim, thus preventing me from using it while charging.

Moire effect still there, even bigger with the magnesium case, suppose I will have to get used to it, at least not that visible with the screen on.
I used my little USB sync/charge (ordered from Proporta) yesterday, as long as I am using the X51V the battery actually went down while connected to the usb port. On the way home I switched the PDA off and charged it with the same cable through the car charger (also from Proporta) and it charged quite fast.
Have not tried the sync yet with this cable.
