Question Best, Affordable Headphones or Ear Buds

I am looking in to getting some headphones or ear buds for my axim x51v but I dont know where to get a nice set for not too much. I have seen some thing called ear gels where the cover of the ear bud is molded to fit in your ear and direct sound into the ear canal making outside noise diminish. The thing is I can't find a place to buy them. Any other ideas are much appreciated.

You want nice IEMs?

I don't know what your definition of afforable is, but I have a pair of these
http://www.earphonesolutions.com/westoneum1.html
and I love them.

If your budget is even lower, you can go for something like the sony ex series, or the panasonic hje series - these are semi-canalphones, so they don't isolate as well.

If you want ear buds, go get something from the senn mx series.

If i'm too vague, go to www.head-fi.org and read many similar threads.

Welcome to the site, Adam. Lat gave you some good advice, that headfi.org is a great site. Check out this headphone discussion as well.

I just worked my way from cheap headphones/earbuds to a little more pricey ones. The reason I kept moving up was either sound quality was crap and/or they hurt. Ended up with Sure E2C's and LOVE them. Worth every penny, sound great, fit great and isolate VERY well.

I've been very happy with my Sennheiser CX300 in-ear monitors. They do an outstanding job at blocking out outside noise and sound great. I bought mine from Amazon for around $50. Just search for it in the forums here, and you'll find some raving reviews. The Shure E2c and Etymotic ER-4p are also good but much more expensive. The CX300 seems to be the best value IMHO.

I forget the exact model, but they are a pair of Sony's that are in my sig. Every review I've read indicated they were the best headphones under $100 MSRP. They did not dissapoint. You can pick them up at many local retailers for the $49.99 MSRP, or be smart and get them on amazon like I did for about $28 or so :-)

Welcome to Aximsite. You can try looking for something like this from Sony. They are great. Very comfortable and sounds great. Affordable too. I think it's the same as the one mentioned by Kamokazi.
