2200mAH battery life quesion?
This is my first post of a question so please be gentle
Have allways found an answer from all the other smart axim owners so I am hoping for some help. I have an x50v with the Mugen power 2200mAH battery which is about a year old (the battery not the Ax). I listen to MP3's at work on my Ax for a good part of the night as it helps keep me awake and I only stop when the first shift stupidvisor comes in. My question is that the other day I was getting ready for work and realized that my Ax was not fully charged so I put it in the charger base to charge up all the way before going to work. The charge light changed to green just a minute before I had to leave so off the timing was great. I listened to music for a couple of hours leaving GSplayer running all the time with the screen off and BatMemTime running on the today screen as I like to keep an eye on my battery life. After running for 4 hours I had 51% charge left! Normally I leave my Ax in the charger base for a couple of hours before going to work and usually after 4 hours of play it would be in the 10-20% power left. I tried my charge til green and remove plan today and right now after 6:11 of uptime since full charge I have 20% power left! I have never had my Axim run for this long with so much charge left. Some one with more smarts than me please explain???? Maybee some informal testing should be tried.

Sounds like good news to me!
I think that it's great to get such battery life. i too use the 2200mah battery, and i get a full day's use out of it, if I do not use the backlight or the radios.

I usually set the CPU to high speed, turn off the WiFi power saving feature, and play videos from my CF card with the brightness turned up, and I get 3:15 to 4:15 hours of use out of it.

Your battery life depends on many factors:
- CPU Speed
- Radio usage (WiFi & Bluetooth)
- Backlight usage
- Memory card usage

If you are storing your music on the built-in storage, and are not using the radio, and keep the screen off, the 6:00+ hours seems right to me.

Perhaps your CPU had been set to a higher setting before?

Keep grinnin' Dude! Your battery time rocks!

No changes
Well since I did not tell all in the first post.............oooopps
The times I am getting are with CPU-Auto , Screen-OFF, BT-OFF, WiFi-Off and that is the way I run my Ax when listening to music. I have ScreenToggle set to one of the hardware buttons so the only time the screen/light is on is when checking the battery life. I thought 2 hours more in battery life was unusual. It was a full moon so maybee that is it Or maybe someone has been slipping my Axim decaf all this time....................

Hey Wily Stuf, check out Gigi's review of the 3300mAh battery, as it contains a comparison w/the 2200 and some stats on how long the different battery charges last. Good stuff.

You sure? I did this search "dell axim x51v 2200 mAh"
and got $30 prices with $16 to ship -- maybe I missed some and should wait?

Thanks,

Dennis

Sounds interesting. You're saying you get extra life if you take the axim off the charger as soon as it turns green, rather than just leaving it sit there?
