Question WMP and Seagate Microdrives

Has anyone had any difficulties using a seagate microdrive to play music using WMP. I am thinking of purchasing a microdrive for audio files and I would like to use WMP or any other music player that is easy to use while driving. I have looked at different threads in the forums but could not find anything. Your input would be greatly appreciated.

I have the Seagate 8GB microdrive and play my music and movies perfectly fine with TCPMP.
It works great and no problems with the microdrive. Oh...I have the x51v.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for your reply Chalinga. I have TCPMP on my X51v right now. Have you tried using WMP with your microdrive? I am curious to see if the music skips and the length of time that it takes files to load. I plan on using my axim to play music on the drive to work and I think that WMP is a little easier to use while driving. Thanks.

I'm playing my music from my microdrive in WMP right now. It loads very quick. I have listened to about 3 songs in a row and not one skip. I think you should be okay.
By the way...I'm listening to Interpol!!!

I use Mortplayer and other software that have different "skins" that make it easy to use with your fingers. Mortplay has a car screen that is specifically made to use while driving. Others have similar features including microdrive options that save battery life when playing music/movies. I have a 3300 battery and an 8 GB Seagate micro. This combo gives me about 15 hours of music play with 15% battery in reserve ( wiith screen off).

Ditto for me. Try TCPMP.

Thanks for the suggestion. I will check out Mortplayer. I already have TCMP but I have not gotten the hang of using it while in my car. Thanks everyone for your input.

What's the battery life like when using a microdrive? Does it draw a significant amount more than SD or CF flash? What about speed, any significant difference in load/save times? And are there any compatibility problems on the X50v?

I dunno about battery life cuz I aint got one yet but I do know about compatibility,do not buy any hitachi microdrive that is a 3k4 model or has a white label, better yet avoid hitachi altogether go wit seagate theres a 4gb microdrive at outpost.Com thats only $71
