WiFi connection issue

Hopefully the smartest collection of Axim users on the planet can help me solve this problem. I was attempting to help a friend out connecting to their home wireless system. They are on Comcast Broadband with a wifi router. They are using WEP 128 bit encryption. Their main PC is wired, two sons have wifi connections currently. Both the wifi connections were made with the help of comcast. I tried to connect up the their X50 today, its using a Symbol card. They have had no problems connecting at motels, Burger Kings etc. But were stumped at the home system. When I made the connection (scan picked up their broadcast easily), set the passkey it would connect for only a second or two then I'd get a message the page can't be found. When I'd jump to the WiFi status there would ne no IP address assigned. I'd hit the renew button, once the new IP was assigned I could open an internet page. As soon as I'd try to do something on the page, it would fail again. Same thing, no IP when I'd check status.

Any advice great appreciated.
