at canadian tire ... total after tax (15% ) just came under $15 !
for those who wants to make the power/charger adapter to fit ... I just apply a little heat at the legs corner and spread it outward ( works great ) !! :approve:
also ... after spreading the legs ... when you clipping the device to the holder ... since the clamp is adjustable ... make sure your axim is center ... because sometimes the Axim isn't center and you might figured the legs are not spread wide enough and applied more bending ... not that much necessary ... pay attention to the allignment of the Axim once it's in the clamp and bend just enough :)
I hope mine works! I hope I don't have to spread the "legs" wide.

I just went to Canadian Tire, and saw a Type S one as well. Package looked different, however i just grabbed it as i as late for lunch. I got it for $8 hehe. They had "color" ones that were on sale. So i took a blue. Hopeuflly it fits!
package look exact same for me ( white iPod in picture )
hopefully you didn't grabbed the Type-S for phone version .. as I also saw Type-S ..but it is made for thinner phone instead of PDA/iPod :p
also .. the origianl post mentioned that you can rotate it sideway/landscape if you have round vent ... well, I'm here to tell you that you can actually turn the clips itself and mount it landscape even on regular vents !! :approve:
I took a few minutes, went to a Michael's arts and crafts store, and found a sheet of self-adhesive 2mm thick foam. I cut a couple pieces and stuck them to the holder. I've been pretty happy with the results. I figure it keeps my Axim from being scratched when I slide it in or out, and probably cuts down on vibration and such. If anyone cares, I'll add a picture. Total cost of modification: $0.79+Tax. And I have lots of foam left.
I just got one today. I almost didn't find it in automotive, it simply doesn't look big enough. But it works! Won't accept my leather case, though. That's alright, I'll live. I'll try to turn it sideways tomorrow, just for kicks. You can pivot the metal clips on the back. Will try with a larger battery, but it doesn't look good there.
I finally found it in my local Target. Like PocketBrain said, it was just too small to notice that it is the one in the picture from OP. My Axim x51v with Innopocket case fits nicely in it. For $7, it is well worth it. Now, it is time to get a BT GPS receiver so that I can put my Axim on the dash of my car.
You type and drive? I will assume not. Do you ride around in your car but not drive or something?
If I could type and drive I'd be doing good, no I type reports for work on the road, better to type them as they happen and then D/L them to office puter at end of shift
I just recieved this from amazon today. However the clips itself are not good. They do not go in all the way into my vents(Accord 2000). also u cannot adjust the viewing angle so ur stuck there.
this ones going back to amazon
