Trying to find a solution for my 2k6 civic, since it doesnt have any vents in the midle dash, Im having a hard time figuring out how where or which holder would work
It looks like you may have to choose between limited visibility (Behind the steering wheel) or out-of-reach (the right side of the radio)!
You could look at other options, like a windshield mount, or a dash mount.
I've also seen some cup-holder inserts that have a flexible neck on which you can mount the Axim.
If you really need to use this vent mount, you might try the far left vent, or see if there is something you can clip it to on the cieling/visors. Both might need longer cables and/or carefull cable routing.
The holder works great. I have a old car stereo without aux. inputs. So I use a cassette adapter with a mini plug cord on it, to hear the GPS over my car radio. It is one that came with a portable CD player. I guess I have to get a new car stereo as it is a choice of GPS or music.
Just picked up this mount today @ Canadian Tire as well. I own a 2007 Nissan Altima w/ Dell Axim x50v, Sena Extended Batt case and works pretty good. The PDA fits snug in the mount but not a snug fit between the vent and the mount (but not a loose fit either..overall, it's not bad unless u go offroading :) ). Just need to add some more padding on the vent clip and that should do the trick. And the mount blends into the interior which is another plus. For 13 bucks plus tax, it's worth a try!

You don't have to choose! I run my gps software and Windows Media Player at the same time on my x51v. Works well, actually! The sound from both comes through at the same time....the trick is getting the sound volume for each juuuust right. The only drawback is when the GPS has to recalculate a route or such, it make take a little longer, and every so often it will hang there for 10-15 seconds, but usually it works pretty well with no issues.
