New axim owner with issues
Hello everybody,
This is my firt time posting, but, I have been enjoying the quality of advice on this site for some time, but, I have not seen any answers to my issues.
First I am very happy with my Axim x50v that I purchased based on some of your advice, so keep it up.

My issues are 1) i recently purchased an 8 gig mem card and would like to put music and video on it. what is the best way to do this.

2) do I need to do anything to the screen? I am not sure what vga is or if I need it.

3) what do I need to load TomTom on to my x50v and use the external gps antena?

Thanks in advance.

Ryan

1) 8gb is a lot of space (well done ) but activesync only works at a fraction of usb1 speed.. So a card reader will save you an amazing amount of time transfering files.

TCPMP is an awesome free media player that will handle nearly anything,,, and I use fairuse (on my pc) to convert my dvd collection into files that my axim can play.

2) if you have an x51v/x50v then you have a vga device.. you don't need to do anything with it... Although "True Vga " mode can be activated with 3rd party software, which displays things differently to "standard mode vga"

if you just have a x50/51 then don't worry about it.

3) well 2/3 wasn't bad

and to aximsite

If you want to transfer your music and video files to the Axim over ActiveSync then you're lost. It will take to much time. I recommend you to use a card reader (as psionandy said) or to install Card Export II on your PDA. With this application, the Pocket PC behaves as another drive for your PC.
