mobile car wifi long range solution
i would love to be able to drive along and get access to wireless hotspots within a 1 km range. I came across these products on the net. Has anyone found a good long range wifi solution for the car that interfaces with the axim x50v/51v?

here are the links:

I was going to get a "Stomp Box" with a Verizon EV-DO PC card and then just have the Stomp Box attached under my seat or to the top of my trunk, I would then have a "traveling" high speed wireless access point anywhere my car was (as long as I got an EV-DO signal). Here ya go check it out.......http://www.stompboxnetworks.com/

the cost won't be low anyway
you need:
1. outdoor-mount MIMO (3RX, 1TX) wifi AP (1x TX with 3x RX connectors, 1W RMS TX) with POE support
2. 10dBi omni-directional antenna (1ea)
3. 20dBi panels (3ea)
4. 25-50m tower (must have lightning protection)
5. POE feeder
this configuration can make your axim wifi range is like 1900 GSM phone

I wonder how well the Asus WL-HDD would do this in "bridge"mode.
