What are some good FM transmitters? I have the Belkin Tunecast which lets me pick anything from 88.1 to 107.9, but I live and travel between 2 major cities, and have a very difficult time finding a frequency that isn't being overlapped partially by other radio stations.
I'm sure there has to be some out here for the 3.5mm adapter the Axim has; I used my friends iPod the other day, and it has one that plugs in, that works so well that it can actually cover up some decent signal radio stations near here (his was an unhacked one, so surely they have other ones like this too before modification). Is there any recommended companies besides Belkin that produces a great signal like the one I used for the iPod?
Edit: while looking online, I saw some similar ones to the one that was used, and I believe that the brand was "Monster" (I'm not sure if it's the same people who make Monster brand cables or not)
I Tried a belkin but It did not work. The voulme Had To be all The way up and the Hiss was obnoxious.
Edit:
The range was horible and it would not lock on a station. I have a Ranger Pickup Truck so the radio antenna was only 3 feet away. I have seen some whole house units for the same price, one from X10, with ranges of 100ft. The whole house FM station seems interesting.......
I ordered mine from Seidio. It also lets you choose all frequencies. It has a good strong signal with no hiss, volume is OK. I have not had it for very many days, so I don't know about interference from other radio stations, but I think it is powerful enough to overcome this problem. The downside is it has no internal battery, which means it has to be connected to the Cigarette Ligher outlet (or my Seido car mount) all the time. It is also a little big, but since it is going to be in the car all the time this is not a problem for me.
I used the iriver for a long time. Its differant from most FM tuners in that it plugs directly into your cigerette lighter adapter. I don't know if conducts the FM signal through the car or what....but I've used the cheap FM tuners right up through the expensive Belkins and the Iriver has far surpassed the quality of all of them in my opinion. Since it just plugs into the ligheter adapter, it's use is best suited for automobiles.

Let me know how the Seidio works. I have the G4500S mount myself, and if it works, I'd be willing to try it. I didn't really give that one much thought when searching for one since it almost looked like a rebranded Belkin, minus some interface changes. If you do try it out, try it about 0.2 hertz away from a strong, and/or medium powered (Say is 100.5 is strong, try 100.3) radio station to let me know how it cuts through them.
The key is to get one that you can power through the cigarette lighter. The battery powered ones usually don't put out a powerful enough signal.
You could also go the very simple and cheap way of using a tape adapter (if your car still has a tape player). The sound quality is supposed to be excellent, and tape adaptors are quite cheap. Someone else asked about ways to hook their axim up to the car stereo, and here are some of my suggestions.

I never planned on getting one that ran on batteries, keeping them charged/bought wouldn't be worth it. If my car had a cassette deck, this problem would be solved, sadly enough though, it doesn't.
I rather get a transmitter that is powerful, instead of a FM modulator which is the only other option I can think that is practical, which can take place of the antenna (you plug the antenna into this thing, it has a toggle switch for "antenna on" / "antenna off" and it will broadcast to the radio over a wire, but on a radio station).
That seems like the easiest thing, besides just replacing the radio out completely, which requires a lot more steps in my Malibu than I care to take. The down side to this is usually you have to get back in the back, typically taking the radio out, moving some wires around, and plugging it in, so it is not transportable at all.
I have to say that I have the X51Lo and the Belkin Tunecase - and it works great. I have to pull it at least 3ft away from the radio for it to lose reception. Maybe I just got lucky, but it has my vote.
I ended up getting the Monster RadioPlay 300 (non0iPod version) off of ebay (about $22 shipped, whereas most places charge about $45~$50+ shipping). It can overpower some radio stations, and actually covered the strongest one near me up, had some static, but with that known, I guess it is pretty good. The bass doesn't seem quite right as much as the Tunecast had, but it still sounds good.
