Controlling presentations

I continue to search for a way to use my 50v for powerpoint presentations. The cables are not an issue. What I need help with is "How do you control the presentation?"

I currently use a USB wifi remote with my laptop. Works incredibly well. But I need to free my laptop for other uses during the day when I am lecturing. And if I take the new job, I will have 2 projectors, so doing dual presentations would be nice. But only if I can walk around while discussing the information.

Help, please!

Sounds like you have a working controller for your laptop. I don't think there's a way to use it for the X50v, but I'm not sure (someone else, please comment). For your Axim, there's a number of options, depending on what you want. You can use a bluetooth mouse or keyboard, and then there are dedicated presentation controllers. I don't have any reccomendations for mouse or controller, but the Think Outside bluetooth keyboard is great. I have one, the Dell-branded one (Dell Executive Keyboard for Axims) and it works with other devices perfectly fine, but not simultaneously.

As I understand it, you want to have two presentations running, one on your Axim and one on your laptop. Correct?

Oh, and you should try connecting your wi-fi controller to your Axim and see what happens.

BT mice are still horribly expensive. I am waiting on a keyboard to see what my specific classroom is setup like. If the school provides another PII with 128mb RAM and XP Pro, I'll have a keyboard overnighted in!

Have you seen a BT presentation controller? My wifi one uses a USB dongle, which is tough to do with a PPC.

Running two presentations is one thing that would be nice. Why? I am desperately trying to figure out how to teach notetaking. I am evaluating many techniques -- one in my head may be to have dual projectors -- one of "teacher" slides and one of "student notes." It would also be nice to allow the notebook to be used by the TA for entering information or to not have to transport the notebook from room to room.

Thanks
David
