HT820 and Skype
Axim x51v ROM12
Can anyone get their HT820 headphones to work with Skype? I can pair it but all I hear is a beeping noise and the mic doesn't work either.

Is anyone using the HT820 with skype? Am I missing some steps or does it just not work?

Yeh I got it to work. When it beeps that means it's not fully connected. Pair the headset with the Widcomm stack and when you hear the beeping press the left headset button (this would initiate a call on a phone). You will then hear whatever the PDA does asif its the speaker - except lower quality. Connect as you would with Skype.
:) Hope that helps.
Oh and when you get this to work, can you tell me if you get hissing and popping every so often? I get this sometimes on my phone (Sony Ericsson W800i) but it goes away if I pair it again.

Excellent thanks. I'll try it out when I get home and let you know how it goes.

You can get these on ebay for about $30 which includes shipping. Is it worth it or shoudl I try something else?

I don't think its a good idea to get the ebay ones. I and others have found that they skip every 20 seconds or so. In addition, their firmware cannot be flashed unlike non-ebay models. All in all there is something not quite right about them.
I have sent them back and although the seller is polite I will have to see whether there has been an improvement when they return.

Dunno if this thread is still acitve, but.....
Got the HT820 today, works great, thanks to the guys who did the bluetooth stack work, but I want it all. Is there a way to answer a skype call with the buttons on the headphone? When a call is incoming I tap the left side button but all it does is connects/disconnects the headphones/speaker. Is there a trick or hack or driver that will let me use the axim just like a phone; ie answering a call without reaching into my pocket and tapping the screen or am I flying to close to the sun on wings of wax?
