I realized I do not have a car charger for my x50v and I am going on a road trip this Friday, where I will be using my new GPS receiver+Axim for navigation.

Are there any B&M (brick & mortar) stores in the San Jose, CA area that sell Axim car chargers? Thanks.

Not OEM ones per se; however, if you can find a car charger with the same specs as the Dell one, that should work. For example, many people have been using the PSP chargers. There are a few threads on this if you search.

As well, does your GPS come with a car charger? Check the specs on that to see if it is compatible. Some GPS chargers also come with a Y cable that allows you to charge both your GPS and your Axim at the same time.

Thanks for the reply. I tried to search but "PSP" is too short, and "PSP charger" yielded a bunch of erroneous results. It seems like all the forums I visit are difficult to search. :(

My GPS rec'r is the i-Blue, which uses a mini-USB plug. At least I can use the mini-USB for my SLVR & i-Blue. I will look into getting a PSP charger.

Did you put "psp charger" in quotes when you searched? Here are some links that might help:

Ah, I forgot to use the quotes. I searched for 'psp AND charger' but it gave me the same results as 'psp charger'. I'll definitely remember to use the quotes next time. Thanks!

Another possibility is the Igo universal charger with tip B07. These are generally available at Radio Shack. If you go the PSP charger route, be careful with Pelican brand. They seem to have at least two different ones with the same model number and one works fine, but the other causes flicker when trying to charge and operate the axim at the same time.
