Bluetooth, Nextel, and Terminal Emulation
Here's a challenge to see if anyone's had experience or can suggest a solution. I have a need to dial into a modem for access to a building control system. I purchased a CF modem and dial in from my X50 and with vhxPC (terminal emulator) it does a superior job. But I have to use a landline. Now what I'd like to do is use my Nextel i870 (which has the data capabilities turned on) and Bluetooth to accomplish the same connectivity. Nextel supplied me with a USB cable that attaches to my phone and laptop so my terminal emulator can do a dial in, actually it doesn't dial, it emulates it with a data connection (I guess). I want to ditch the laptop and only carry my X50 and phone to conduct my remote connection. Plus use bluetooth to make the PPC/Phone tie. Anybody have some suggestions? My thanks in advance to anyone that can point me in the right direction.

Why don't you just do this...

BT your Axim to your phone via BT Dial-Up Networking (makes your phone into a modem). Then dial a local ISP for Internet or just the number of the modem you are wanting to connect to.

It'll use minutes, so use in off-peak/free hours.

I dunno about using the 3G network of sprint (if you can, since Nextel and Sprint have merged). I dunno.

I've tried that but it doesn't connect, the Nextel folks said you have use their data connection to make modem contact. The BT to the phone for ISP access works fine and I use it frequently. So my quest is for Axim, BT, to dial in modem. Thanks for ideas.
