x51v & Motorola HT820 BT headset
I've tried to search but I couldn't find anything exact except for people saying they have paired these devices fine.

Obviously, I have the x51v and the Moto HT820 bluetooth stereo headset. I've paired them successfully with the "High Quality Audio Setup" and the "Hands-free/Headset".

I know how to pair BT products together, so I'm sure they are being "paired", but once they are "paired", when it's trying to connect or once connected, this is what's happening....

When I try to connect using the "High Quality Audio Setup" , it says connection failed.

When I try to connect using the "Hands-free/Headset", it connects fine, however, the headset while connected beeps every few seconds, like the BT info isn't being successfully transmitted. The devices are about 2 feet away from eachother... headset on my head, PDA in my hand. When I play the music, it just plays from the regular PDA, not through the headset.

I'm using the Widcomm BT stack if that matters...

Can someone PLEASE help me pair this headset correctly so I can listen to my MP3's via the headset?

Thanks in advance,

Nathan

Nathan, the beeping happens to my bt headset too, and that beeping prompts me that I have to press the headset's button once to make it active. I have a different headset than yours, and I don't know if this will also work for you. Just a thought.

Don

Nathanjax,

I have the Moto HT820 as well and the Axim x50v. Works great together. The only oddity I have noticed is that anytime I connect the two, it always says connection failed, but then it connects anyway. Not really sure what that is all about.

Did you install any BT stacks?
Any extra software or patches?
Which version ROM, BT build, BT version, etc. do you have?
Do you experence any 'skips' or audio degradation?
How is the audio quiality?
Who did you buy your Moto HT820 from, a resaler outside the United States, or from an established Best-Circuit-Buy-City type place?

Anyone else with the X50v & Motorola HT820, feel free to add your thoughts.

I had the x50v (recently upgraded to x51v - thank you AXIMSITE!) and the HT820. Didn't try pairing these two devices as I was using the HT820 for my cellphone, but tried it right now with the x51v and the Widcomm BT stack and am listening to it right now (took me 2 minutes to pair and go. Had to remember to click the button on the earpiece to enable!)

Audio is fine for tinny mono that the HT820 produces - not really a music device, but it gets by and for sneaky listening to podcasts at work it might be just the ticket! Real headphones are better, but it works...

As for the techie:

x51v ROM A012, Widcomm stack installed, using TCPMP as player, no skips, no degrade (@ 2 ft distance) and I got my HT820 as a freebie when I upgraded my cell phone at Radio Shack (now called "The Source by Circuit City" up here in Canada)

I don't get it. The first HT820 set I thought was defective as I was not able to connect them to any of my deivces, not even a new Motorola telephone. Having to do this long distance is taking forever but when I finally recieved the second pair, same results. I have installed the Widcomm stack and the thing doesn't "pair". Can this be a second defective pair or am I missing something here?

HT-820? I've got a first-batch and they work great. Are you sure y'all aren't using the HS820's or something, which aren't stereo? Mine came from the cell phone company's store, and they also sell Plantronics 590A's.

I chatted with a Dell rep who told me my x51v was not compatible with my bt stereo headset, only a mono one.

Anyone know if this is true?

I don't recall reading that anywhere in the Axim specs.
