Logitech BT headphones "popping"

I have an x51v (A12, HW version A00) and with or w/o the widcomm stack (w or w/o the speedswitch applied) there is a "popping" kind of distortion on playback. Happens w/ TCMP or WMP, but not if I use the BT transmitter that came with the headset.. The problem was worse w/ the the widcomm stack. Though I have heard mention of this distortion several times I wonder if everyone w/ the logitech's has it. If not , might the problem be w/ my hardware version ? Was there a different BT chip used in various Ax's ? Or are there some variation in the headsets. I'm using the non IPOD model. Though the logitech headset w/ popping is useable, it sure is annoying, and I am thinking about returning it.

I've had 2 different logitechs/ipod models in the past 8 months. The first pair I had absolutely not issues with (wm2003se), but they broke.

I love not having the wires, but the logitechs are not the best ones out there. I will have to get these replaced under warrenty very soon, as they are extremely hard to turn on, they do not hold a charge and yes they don't seem quite as "clear sounding" as the first pair i bought. But i am also no using wm5 - widcomm.

So I definitely think there are differences from set to set. They are prone to breakage, which is why i am on my second replacement pair. So essentially, I am using up my warranty and will begin looking at newer models then.

If you can return them, I would as I think there are better ones available at a fairly good price point, at this time.

Thanks DC52, I think I will take your advice and return it to CompUsa if I can. I purchased the 2 yr extended warranty knowing about the breakage issue, but the popping problem is too annoying to accept. Looking at their website they have the ANYCOM BSH-100 and the Plantronics Pulsa 590 headphones as alternatives though they are pricey.

I had the exact same issue with widcomm stack

But some how a few weeks ago my x51v hard reset it's self and I lost everything including widcomm but when I tried to pair them without it they worked fine! Now my Scalda headset won't work but the logitechs work great no dropouts or popping. Now my sound quality was fine without the speedswitcher with widcomm but it would drop out and I would have to pwr bluetooh on and off to get sound back.

Next time you do a hard reset try them without widcomm again - speed switcher.

There is a post around here from someone who wanted beta testers for a utility that changes process priorities. Might we worth pursuing... boosting the priority of the Bluetooth stack might prevent the popping sound...

I think this is the thread you're refering too. Sounds like a strong possiblity since the popping is somewhat variable. I'll see if I can get a copy of the PocketPrioritize beta.
