Keyboard Recommendation? (No BT or IR)
I'm looking to buy a standard plug-in keyboard (no thumb keyboard). I heard BT sucks up battery and IR is only usful when you're lined-up perfectly. So I want to go with a standard plug-in keyboard. Are there any? If so, what's do you recommend?

Ir is the same technology thats in tv remotes. The range is smaller on the axim, but its still the same thing. Ir doesnt have to be perfect. There just has to be a clear straight path from the ir wand to the axim. The ir wand will keep lined up with the axim. The ir is very reliable on my axim.

BT does use more battery, but it is easier to use, because it has a longer range than ir can handle.

Also, ir and bt kbs can be used on most pdas, phones, palms, etc that have bt/ir, and ones that are made in the future.

A plugin kb will only be limied to your axim model, and thats all...

unless you buy the ratoc usb host... then you could use a usb keyboard (i think)

no idea what the battery life would be like though

And BT's battery requirements are extremely minimal, especially compared to that VGA screen and 624Mhz proc. You wouldn't notice the difference.

Yea, Read my IR keyboard review. With IR close is good enough.

Hmm...What is very minimal battery useage with BT keyboards? I'm bordering on getting an extra battery, but I can make it through the day without one. If BT keyboards don't suck up too much battery maybe I'll go with a BT keyboard cuz I have a BT cell phone as well. Maybe I can use the keyboard to type my sms. Is that possible? Also, I don't want to fork out $150 for a BT keyboard. Is there something cheaper but just as reliable?

Check CompUSA.com, they seem to have best price on BT keyboards. Mine is supposed to arrive on Thursday I think it was $86 including tax & shipping.
