External VGA Adapter for X51
Does anyone know of any third party cable or adapter or other solution to allow connection of the X51 520MHz to an external VGA display? Dell only offers cables for the X51v.

you may need a CF adaptor (there are some about but i don't know if they are wm5 compatable).

The reason Dell only do it for the V series is that it has an extra graphics processor inside that does all the vga out stuff. The cable itself is just wire

x51v and x50v are vga capable, not the x51 and x50.
you would need more than just a cable, you would need some kind of processor to convert the video signal to vga. Not sure those are available.

That was one reason why I got the Dell x51v, for the vga out.

I'm sure there is some type of CF card adaper.. however, I don't know how well it would work.... not to mention how much it would cost.

Thanks for the replies. I found three CF presentation cards that appear perfect-- except that all are now discontinued. We will be using these in our 10th grade classrooms and would really like for students and teachers to be able to present. Does anybody know of a CF or SD peripheral currently available.
