Broken stylus
Hello,

The stylus of my pda is broken. I should of course order a new one, but the problem is, it broke whilst getting it out of the axim(x51v). A part is still in the pda and I cannot get it out. What should I do? Thanks for any replies in advance.

Edit:

Well after forcefully giving it some spank it finally did spit it out. Now I need to order a new one..grr.

I would suggest using something like a tooth pick to try and pick it out, and if that dosen't work, turn it upside down and tap on it. A small pair of needle nosed pliers are what I used when I had a stylus get stuck in my PDA.

G'day,
Is it broken off well down the stylus? If you have a very fine long screw you might be able to pick it up that way, or a long sharp needle. Depends I suppose on how much of the stylus broke off. If it's only the tip the forgoing probably wouldn't work. The only caveat to that is that I do NOT know if there is any part below where the stylus sits that might be affected if you do this ; perhaps by the pressure you'd have to apply. Have you contacted Dell to ask their advice.

If your device is no longer under warranty, try opening up the casing to get the stylus out (as a last resort). The screws are under the rubber feet at the back.

I have a mini screw set - and apparently the screws were unable to unscrew.
