Help: I need answers from "invisible shield" users

Today I put on an "invisible shield" bought from shieldzone.com on my x51v. I applied it successfully. However, because the surface of the shield is slightly rubbery, I no longer can write smoothly on the surface for my calligraphier software to recognize my handwriting. My handwriting errors increase dramatically.

For those who have put an invisible shield on their PDAs, would you please tell me whether the surface will remain as rubbery as it is new? Also, will it be more difficult to remove the shield if I wait a few more days?

(For those who read this and have considered buying the invisible shield, I believe it is a good screen protective. It should work just fine if you only need to do tapping.)

It smoothes out after a few weeks, but I've kinda given up on Calligrapher at the moment. because it tends to drag a bit more. Some people have had solution using the polish they sell at the ShieldZone site (I'm not sure if it's a wax or polish, truth be told) to make it all smooth again, but I use Tengo and a few other products these days because of the slight drag the Shield induces towards the SIP area.

I use the invisible shield and have noticed this slight "tackiness" and found that if you use a very small amount of grease you can get back all of the smoothness of the display while keeping the protection. You only need a small amount, and as commented the stuff that the makers of the invisible shield is probably best...

I haven't figured out exactly what grease is best but I have my own preferences.

I just tried writing on my phone (handily covered with the invisable shield product) and there is no binding at all. I don't know how long it will take to become smooth but it should be fine.

I tried the invisibleshield and sent it back because it was too "sticky." I have since switched to a Boxwave anti-glare and have been 100% satisfied.

Thanks guys for your advice. I took the shield off after 24 hours. I just don't want to wait until its stickiness improves because I use calligrapher almost daily.

When I took it off, I could really feel the toughness of the shield. It "stretched" really well. I believe it really can protect the screen better than anything else I have used before (I used boxwave protector for my Treo phone). It is just my habit of using calligrapher that makes this product unsuitable.

As I said, the Apple Polish stuff on the ShieldZone website has been reported to fix the stickiness issue pretty well - and it's pretty smooth in the center of the screen after a few days - it's just that towards the bottom half do you tend to find a slight stickiness.

If you want to use Calligrapher without any extra treatments, the only real options are the WriteShield and the Boxwave - but I don't use the Boxwave now due to how easily it scratched. I don't miss using Calligrapher much at all, not with the way Tengo speeds up my typing, and not having to correct it every 20th word is only a bonus.
