Another CF Wi-Fi for X51
Hi all. I've used these forums to search for all sorts of issues over the past year. Thank you.

I bought a CF Wi-Fi card on ebay for my X51. It's this card http://www.sparklan.com/product_details.php?prod_id=21 . I paid $45.85 delivered.

Downloaded the drivers, plugged in card, connected to Internet. I really can't speak to the range of this card. It's worked fine standing outside a coffee shop downloading email (if that helps at all).

(Someone's going to ask why I don't have a X51V. This PDA is company supplied and I "don't have a business need" for Wi-Fi." Of course, all the VPs do. )

Hope this helps someone.

Regards,

Mark

edit: nevermind, I reread your post and saw that u got it on ebay. Thanks!

what site did you buy it from? I dropped my x50v in the toilet and now the built-in wireless doesn't work, so I am lookin for a way to get wireless again. I might as well upgrade to 802.11g in the process.

Who would have thought a thread on a Wi-Fi card would degenerate so quickly to toilet humor

A few other points about the SanDisk card that's commonly available on ebay (both from the school of hard knocks):
1) If you're tempted to try the SanDisk card -- don't. It will not work on WM5. PocketPC 2002 & 2003 only. Not Windows Mobile Version 5.
2) The SanDisk card support software will not install on Windows XP Service Pack 2. You must install it on Service Pack 1.
3) Should someone stumble on this thread who's looking for information on the SanDisk Connect Plus 128MB + Wi-Fi CompactFlash, the link to these drivers on the SanDisk site is broken. However, they're still there and you can find them at http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/Default.aspx?CatID=1110
