Just got Energy Leaf 2200mh. Question
Ok so I got this from aximcases.com and after charging and putting it into my axim I was surprised to only get 4:55 minutes of use out of it. Basically the same as my orginal dell 1100mh. What gives?

DID the axim acutally shut off, and if it didn't the battery meter has to learn the lenth on your new battery. It will get better with time if I am not mistaken.

A couple things:

First, it takes about two full recharge cycles for the battery to near its maximum potential (so run it down completely twice).

Second, the battery meter "learns" NOTHING. The actual testing is done by circuitry inside the battery, and this was a requirement for ALL Li-Ion batteries when they were first being put on the market.

Does anyone know if there are mobile software/utilities out there that can "learn" the battery information/charge level and provide the option to display the current battery capacity in "Hours Remaining" format instead of the standard percent meter? As you know, 10% remaining on 1100 mAh battery isn't the same duration as 10% remaining on a 2200 mAh batt.

On notebooks, we can show approximately how many hours/minutes there are left before the battery becomes depleted. thx

It isn't good to let your Lithium Ion battery discharge to 10% all the time. Recharging went it is at 40% is better. These baby like to be charged.

I have a battery from Dell and another brandless battery from China. Both listed at 1100amh. But the Dell's last longer than the China's. Also, the fully charged China battery will automatically lose 10% after two day without being used, while the Dell will lose only 3%.
