Play MP3's louder?
Hello to all,

I just purchased my Dell Axim X51v, and I'm digging it!

Is there any was to get the windows media mobile player to play a little bit louder?

If it not possible, then are there any players like Ahead neromix, where you can preamp the sound, or increase quality by playing thru an EQ, available for MS mobile 5.0.

Thanx,

Geri

Howdy. Do a search for 'x50mix', or look at the Multimedia forum and read through a few friends. Notice the names "GSPlayer", "Mortplayer", "PocketMusic" and "PocketPlayer" - those four audio players all have equalizer features, although x50mix is a stand-alone equalizer program.

There is mp3gain which runs on windows, and boosts the volume of the mp3 itself.

I use it on my power-starved cheap mp3 player b/c even at max volume it can be hard to hear when on a loud bus, etc.

TCPMP has preamp and EQ, is free, and for watching video, it's the best I've found.

Isn't the Axim loud enough as is? I have to lower the preamp even on the lowest volume.

Thanx
Thanx to all,
I'll do my homework.

Duwenbasden,

I'm sure the Axim is is loud enough for most people with normal hearing. I for one, have a 35% hearing loss in both ears, and require additonal wave force for my drums.

By the way, Duwenbasden,.......Nice looking Avatar you got there.

At least my sights can admire 100%.

Make Ambient Sounds Softer!
Have you considered using noise cancelling headphones or earbuds? I'm concerned about my hearing (too many concerts while in college), so I was really glad when my wife picked me up a pair for my B-day. It feels weird at first, but I don't have to have the music up as loud, especially at work.

Just a thought...

Cnails,

I have buds too, but I'm used to the performance of my deceased iPod.

I'm looking into the TCPMP, that everyone is claming about.

Too many Heavy Metal/rock concerts for me too. I'm 46, so imagine the concerts I've been to in the 70's and 80's.

Aging, on top of some serious tube amp damage,.... you know my drums are blown out.

But with some aid, the tunes still sound great.

I just got the TCPMP. Excellent player, The preamp at 25% is good enough for me.

Thank you Keviny

No problem but everyone here contributed to my finding it too so my thanks goes out to everyone here too. Not just for TCPMP but for everything else I've learned so far.

TCPMP is a good choice and works fine; if need to use WMP , then you need the x50mix but be ware at high gains it tends to cut the sound completely off;

TCPMP has preamp with built in EQ. And I play all my mp3 and movies on TCPMP. TCPMP has not let me down. ITS FREE!!! Superman returns runs perfect with TCPMP. No reason to use WM5.

TCPMP is AWESOME. You can play live streams at 110%!!!! Also, it plays videos very well, and its preamp is, well, excellent. MortPlayer would be a great music program, if only it didn't have this hella-annoying bug that every so often it just starts skipping really fast through the songs, playing about half a second of each... anyway, when I use my iPhono minis with my X51v's built-in bluetooth, I have to use MortPlayer with the preamp at minimum so I don't get defeaned...
