I haven't used one, but my Axim and my cell are used for many different things. If I have to call & the cell isn't near, then it's Skype for PPC. Good luck!

Hello,
I would say get a cell (a real one) they are cheap as dirt and usially work well. The Axim or any other Phone Enabled PPC is first a pocket PC and only second a phone thus the reception quality and voice quality are horible.
The CF cards are only good for GPRS and in that case again why pay $200+ when u can get a GPRS and Bluetooth enabled phone for less then $100.

As Kolyan said, PPCs were not designed as good cell phones. Even if you get the CF GSM card, you will find that it will be impractical to use your X51v as phone because of quality issues, and also because of its limited battery life. You will be unable to leave your Axim on standby like you would a cell phone without needing an external power supply to keep you going 24/7.

CF GSM cards are best used for data, and again, as Kolyan said, why get one when a new BT-enabled cell phone can be had for much less. In addition, the CF cards haven't been able to keep up with the cellular technology. For example, I am not aware of any 3G cards yet.
