Battery Question
The Dell Battery that comes with the X51v is covered with a black plastic covering. (I think all Dell batteries are.) This covering is seperating and pulling away from the battery opposite from the contacts. I can clearly see a metal that I assume to be the battery itself.

As is, is this a "dangerous" situation" or can i continue to use it? Is it OK to cover the the "back side" of the battery with a small piece of electrical tape?

Thanks for your help?

seperation is typically caused by heat or wetness. Both are bad for batteries and the devices that use them.

The cost of a new battery is far less than the cost of a new Axim...

Contact Dell and see if the battery is covered by your warranty. As mentioned batteries are not that expensive. If you can't get Dell to replace it, then I would suggest you buy one. I wouldn't run the risk of using a battery that may damage the pda.
