New to Axim...can you insert both a sd and cf card at the same time and what do most people do about this and size of cards that they use?

I use both - 2 GB SD card and a 4GB CF card. I use the SD for storing files and installing apps to, and I use the CF for MP3s and media.

Why do you choose that configuration is the CF quicker than the SD? or it just because it is bigger?

Thanks

I have a 512MB CF card I use for music, and I have a 1 G SD Card my programs and TV show episodes are stored on. I have never had to format a card.

You should Format each card before use, some people experience errors when they use their cards without formating.
To Format your card, insert your card in a card reader connected to your computer, then right click on your card, and choose Format on the drop down menu.
I use both a 4gb CF card to store movies, and a 1gb SD card for all my Apps, and Games

I use both
Yes I use both CF and SD @ the same time.

I use my 2.0 gb CF for programs, muliti file data storage.

My SD's are used for specifics; Maps, music, pictures, and other temporary files.

I like to divide my maps into catagories on individual cards for connecting states for specific interstate routes; East coast=512mb sd, New england= 512mb, NY to California= 1gb, and so on.

Emailing pics from a SD switched from my digital camera to my PDA comes in handy when needing to get surveys back to the office in a hurry.

Depending on what work I'm engaged in at the time, I'll usually have both SD & CF working simultaneously.

Any idea what the Axims interfaces are up to ?
I do ask because I got a slow x100 sd card (had this before the x51v).
Now I wonder what to go for.

Q1: Since the SD slot is occupied, any reasons to not go for a cf card ?

Q2: As I see I could invest into anything starting from x80 up to x166 speeds.
terms such as 'supports IDE PIO 6 and MW-DMA 4 Mode' is nice to know if given by the cards manufacturer, but from the computers I got I'm well aware that
a) the fastest standard is always set but by the component which is slower
b) transferrates are mostly theoretical and more lab- but real-life-values.

Thus, is it worth investing into Transcend Ultra Performance or even a Sandisk Extreme III, not to mention a Sandisk IV ?

Thanks in advance for some hints.

In addition to this, does one type of card use more energy than the other? That is, will my battery last longer if I use one type over another?
