Its a sad day...

My Rhinoskin Aluminuminuminuminum (spoken like President Bush) case broke. The screw on the back kept coming loose so I kept tightening it. Tightened it to hard and the screw broke off... now I can't hang it from my belt.

In the past, AximSite had a contest for http://www.aximcases.com, but no matter how many times I tried to enter, my lucky number was never drawn. I went to AximCases but they're to expensive for me. Not that I'm cheap... I'm just broke.

Any ideas on how I can successfully repair the screw on my case? Anybody have an extra case around?

If you go to Rhinoskin's web site you can purchase a new belt clip that comes with a screw (I believe). You might even be able to buy the screw, but I am not sure about that.

Get bigger pockets. =).

Did the screw break off inside the case, or did the screw just break?

Duck tape works good for stuff like that! Get silver colored tape - it will look real natural!

About a year ago, I had the same problem with my Rhinoskin case. After my Axim fell to the ground (luckily it was carpet), I superglued the screw back on the case. You can also use LockTite. After a while, I didn't want to chance having the screw fall off again, so I got a Nite-Ize holster. I feel a LOT more secure in knowing that my Axim isn't going to fall off somewhere and me not know about until later.

I sent them an email after reading your post. No response. Nothing. Nada.

Gives me reason to find a different brand case.

Hmm. I never heard of that before. Does it offer adequate protection for your screen or do you have a cover for the screen? Which Nite-Ize holster did you get? I went to their website and saw many different ones.

It broke off inside the case. I peeled off the black stuff on the inside and was able to retrieve the broken part of the screw.

Maybe try giving the manufacturer a whole whopping two days to get your email and respond to it.
One member here got a replacement, with instructions to destroy the old one in as spectacular fashion as he could, and send pictures! Does your local national guard armory have an APC?

Click on the "View my PDA" link next to my username. There are links there to all my accessories, including my Nite-Ize holster. My Axim lives in a black PDAir aluminum hardcase. Screen is of course well protected. I switched to the PDAir from the Rhinoskin when I got an extended battery. I then put my hardcase in my Nite-Ize holster (which easily fits every case out there). This hardcase + holster solution works quite well, and isn't too bulky.

Ok... did that. Gave them two days.
Actually, gave them nine. Still no response.

I found a belt clip for my rhino-skin at CompUSA for $10.00. Within a day, the PDA falls from my hip and hits the ground. All is ok but I am returning the clip.

Tried many of their sellers listed on Nite-Ize's website and all but a few sold the universal PDA case. They should just sell it themselves.

I eventually found it on eBay this past Sunday for about ten dollars and jumped at it. It was quickly delivered and I am very pleased. One review on AximSite complains of the weak bottom support. I find the holsters to be very durable. I slipped my great case less the good for nothin belt clip into my new Nite-Ize holster. Thanks for the suggestion!!!
