A home made moulded holder step by step
I got some private mails asking about that white piece of “terracotta” shown in my video. So let me show how I did my car holder for Aximizer.

Get a good number of flat square magnets like those we stick on refrigerator door. You cannot imagine how strong they stick magnet against magnet.
Get a large block of modelling clay. It is sold a kind of clay that hardens at ambient temperature, no oven required.

Put all magnets in heat water for 5 or 10 minutes, previously make some scratches at stuck paper to allow water to cross plastic cover. Then remove the paper and the glue. Use just your fingers, do no damage the magnets.

Make pairs of magnets sticking magnet against magnet. Magnets are made of several north-south bands, try to find the strongest orientation when making the pairs and cut the shifted areas of each magnet of a pair to have both same shape.

Stick as many magnets-pairs as possible to PDA areas of interest. Remember you can cut the magnets any shape and force them to curved areas like PDA edges.

Now take your PDA with magnets-pairs and clay block to your car. Model with the shape you like putting all together at your preferred car location. Do not take much care about the excess of clay, it can be easily cut once hardened.

Leave it one day to get clay harden.

Now you can cut and smooth thing over to get your desired external shape.
Do not forget a painting coat!!

NOTE: If you want moulded clay to be removable from the car you can do same magnets procedure at car side, but if you get a heavy piece of clay, magnets could not be strong enough to hold clay piece and PDA.

Once having your moulded clay piece, you can turn it in a plastic one with this procedure:

http://www.cochesrc.com/foros/ftopic73500.html

It shows how to get a silicone mould and how to make a plastic piece from it.
But sorry, it is Spanish!!

Very good!!

It shows some more ways to do it, it has also better pictures, and it is english!.

But it does not show how to buid the mold. It starts from already made molds.
