Clarivue Screen Protector
I bought a pack for my x51x. I received it on Saturday. It came with a microfiber cloth and 2 screen protectors. Having experience with Martin Fields screen protectors, installing the Clarivue was a relative breeze. It is helped by a credit card slowly guiding the protector onto the screen.

The fit is great.

HOWEVER, the Clarivue is not durable. It almost immediately became marked with fine scratches from my stylus use. I've been using PPCs since 1997, so I can appreciate the amount of appropriate pressure that is necessary for screen display. No heavy-handed pressure on the screen. I expected more. This is a soft screen protector. I don't think it will last more than a month of typical use.

After I "use up" the Clarivues, I will be returning to the better screen protectors. In my opinion, they are not worth the cost and effort. I have been using Martin Fields on both of my Ipaq 2215s for three years. They don't show anywhere the amount of scratches I have with the Clarivue after 2 days use. I do not recommend these screen protectors.

I use plastic I got from a fabric store that is .008mm thick. It is used as a table cloth cover but works great as a screen protector. I got a square yard of the stuff five years ago for less than a buck. It clings to the screen and can be removed, washed and reapplied when needed. Its very durable, mine last me over 6-9 months. I made a template to cut the size out. I have used this material on my last 6 PDAs. If and when the face of the protector gets a bit tacky I just put a very very small amount of pledge on a rag and rub it onto the protectors outer face side.

i am a clarivue fan...although it is true that they are not as durable as some other protectors, the price can't be beat. they are definitely more durable than screen guardz

Before I began using the Martin Fields protectors, I used to use clear page protectors cut down to the size of the PPC. They worked as good as these Clarivue. In fact, I think they were more durable. I might try them again.

Never having used a PDA or screen protector before, Clarivue was the first one I tried. I loved it at first, but had nothing to compare it to. The first one got mangled after I had to exchange my Axim for a replacement and I tried to remove it. The second one went for 3 months and it was covered in scratches after that time.

I am using a Writeshield now and it seems to be holding up much better than the Clarivue did. When these Writeshields are used up I was planning to try Martin Fields next.

I do like the thin cloth that came with the Clarivues because it slides right in the cover pocket of my Sena case without adding much bulk.

$12 per unit for two months protection is a bad investment. Better to buy a quality case and quality stylus.

Be very careful ordering from Clarivue.com (also jhongsinc.com, caraccessory.com, and jhongs on e-Bay...all have the same dishonest Chinese owner).
The screen protectors that they offer are generic sized but being represented as an exact fit for a specific model device. There are very few devices where they will actually have a precise fit.
Also, when it comes to customer service and returned orders, they WILL RIP YOU OFF if they get the chance (they shamelessly ripped ME off)! All around they are a very dishonest company, don't send them your money!
If you MUST have their product, order only through e-Bay and pay with a credit card through PayPal so that you have some recourse. When you get the screen protector, if it doesn't fit like you expected, you can file a claim through PayPal. When returning the screen protector to Clarivue, be sure to send it by registered mail with a tracking number, if you don't you will get ripped-off (this is how they got ME)!
