Syncing a digital camera to a X51v
Hello all

I am wondering if anyone has had any luck syncing their digital camera directly with a Axim X51v. I would like to be able to do this but I am not sure if these types of sync cables are even available.

I would want to transfer directly from the digital camera (that has a male-end USB2 fitting) into the X51v so I can download photos/videos from my XD card onto the CF or SD card in the X51v.

The sync cable that I have with the X51v only has the male-end USB 2 fitting (which allows it to be coupled with a PC or Laptop) but I want to bypass this type of connection and go directly from the camers into the X51v

Anybody have any suggestions on how this could be done? ??

Thanks

You can get a USB host adapter for the CF slot. There is only one available at the moment I believe. Not cheap, and not sure if it would work with a camera, software and drivers could be a problem.
Look here

Or you could use an XD to CF Adapter like this

Why not just buy a CF card adapter for your XD picture card such as the FujiFilm CompactFlash Card Adapter for xD-Picture Card. You can transfer pictures to your SD card that way, when your SD card is full, empty it by transferring it to your CF card. You can then transfer the rest of your pictures to you SD card until it's full.

p.s. box beat me to it, lol.

There is something similar to the "iPod photo connector" device, but you plug 2 USB devices in. I can't remember what it was called offhand, but it had 2 USB ports, plug both in, and it transfers from one to the other. I remember it took AAA or AA batteries, and only transferred at USB 1.1 though; so far I haven't seen one running at 2 speeds yet.
