Hey everyone, I'm considering investing in a car mount and bluetooth GPS shortly and I'm wondering which of the available powered car mounts would be the best choice in terms of which can accept my Axim x51v when its wearing the Sena case.

My guess is the the Arkon one will work the best, as its not as "fitted". Anyone have any thoughts on their experiences with these mounts, especially if they can accept an Axim in the Sena case?

I have an Sena case and a Arkon mount (CM720) for my car along with iGuidance/BT-339 combination. I don't think a Sena case with a belt clip will work because it would extent the PDA out to far for the catches; hopefully you don't have one.:exc: The Sena case I have doesn't have the belt clip though the case in itself causes the PDA to barely stay snug. If I were to go down a very bumpy road it might fall off. So far I have been doing regular street driving and it has held on.:approve: I have contemplated trying to make some kind of fix to my Arkon holder to keep it more secure. Maybe just as simply putting a rubber band across the top. If you like I could perhaps attach a picture of it? Good luck!

I figured the Arkon CM720 would reliably hold a Sena-clad Axim, but now that I know other wise. I may just have to settle for taking the PDA out of the case when I use it in my car. Still I'd like to see a photo of just how well or how not so well it fits.

If I have to give up the case, I'm leaning towards the OnCourse mount, does anyone have experience with it?

I would like to find a solution to this as well. For the last year or so I have been using a pretty low tech method. In my Jeep I have a old cell phone mount from Pana Vise. I took out the phone holder and put some velcro on the metal plate and the back of the Sena case and it holds it perfectly. I now use this method for my Blackjack as well. The only downside is the GPS navigation voice cues are a bit low and I would like a self powered and built in speaker holder.

Attached is my picture of the x50v Arkon car mount with it in the Sena holder. If you notice it is on the verge of falling out; however, by tilting it a little it still rests in there nicely. The Sena case sure makes it nice by not having to remove the Axim from it to connect to the car mount. I also like the case because of its ease of access to all of the Axim's controls. Hope this helps.
