Best way to apply BoxWave ClearTouch

Please post the best ways of applying the BoxWave ClearTouch onto the Axim!

Also, maybe it's because of its superrior quality, but BoxWave ClearTouch is indeed quiet expensive at $10+ a pop - so how do we wash it if while applying it, dust particles or air bubbles still managed to sneak in? Water, soap...?

Thanks! :approve:

Cool

You may have to do this a couple of times...
1. Clean your screen and dry with a lint free cloth.
2. Clean and dry it again.
3. Leave the outer application paper on if you can... if not, you can still make it happen.
4. Peel the whole back paper off.
5. Begin to apply on top edge but don't stick the protector under the plastic (this will make it too short on the bottom).
6. Use the application tool or a credit card and gently press on the protector back and forth as you lay the protector down (this will eliminate any bubbles).
7. Ta da! Done!

If you see a couple of bubbles, try to gently work them out. If you can't get all of them out, you probably won't notice them when the Ax is on.

If you botched the first attempt, peel it off (but don't bend the corner too hard or it will leave a crease in it. Clean and dry the Ax again. Wash the protector with mild soap and water (dishwashing liquid worked well for me). Shake it a couple of times and reapply. A little water will dissapear and no it didn't hurt my Ax.

Probably the worst part that I dealt with was that I wanted it perfect. And since I have some AR tendancies, I mean PERFECT. Once it is applied and has been on for a day, you will probably not notice any imperfections.

I love my Boxwave screen protector and I will not use anything else EVER!

I hope this helps! :approve:

As fireman275 said, you can wash it with soap and water. To dry it, I just use a lint-free cloth. Some people use a hair dryer but I am not that patient! If you end up getting lint/dust onto the protector again while re-applying it, use scotch tape to remove it. You can also use scotch tape to act as a backing while you re-apply. Simply peel off each piece of tape as you go.

Just follow Fireman 275's instructions and you should be fine. I use Boxwave and they are well worth the pennies; I found that they go on really well if I wash them first with a little mild soap and water and I wave it around till dry and then they always seem to go on bubble free.

Hey,

I have this on my x51v. If you install it right, you may never have to take it off. I have had mine on there for months, and it still looks new.

SECRET:
I like the other posters ideas. One thing to do IN ADDITION TO the other posters ideas is to install it in the bathroom. The action of turning on a hot shower, and creating steam causes the dust particles to drop to the floor. You do not need a steam bath, but close to it. Make sure the bathroom door is closed. It significantly reduces dust in the room. It is worth the hassle (of being in a steamy room) because dust makes it look terrible.

P.S. This this is my first post on this website. :approve:

I use the shower trick and it really works to keep the dust down to a minimum. Also, I use the hairdryer. Once the Boxwave is on, I forget about it.

I'll make a video clip for installing screen protector, and post it on youtube
1. you have to wipe out dust and fingerprint (this is recommended your hands is washed clean with soap, prepare dust-off to blow dust
2. remove the sticky cover, and reveal a corner
3. align along a side, then "roll" off on the screen diagonally (peel off if you see some bubble, but rolling is a good way to avoid bubble
4. prepare 2 scotch tapes, one for peeling up, the other is used for dust/lint removal
you can check the instruction on shop.brando.com.hk

I just applied the Boxwave Crystal Clear screen protector a few weeks ago using the shower method, and it worked great!

I really love this protector! It is so much better than the adhesive style protectors.

Welcome to the family!

Thanks! I have crafted my X51v into a finely tuned machine. We (Axim and I) owe much thanks to this site.
It has helped open many doors to functionalty that was not previously available.

Thank you for the fixes, and the Axim education. :approve:
