Need a recommendation for a BT keyboard
Thanx for checking this thread
I'm a new x51v owner and I need recommendations about which Bluetooth keyboard is best.

I would prefer 5 rows of keys, but I suppose 4 rows wouldn't kill anyone.
I intend to use it for a good amount of typing (like 2pg dbl.spc essays and 300-word emails, maybe notes in class).

The ones I am currently looking at are from ThinkOutside:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16823203005
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16823203009

Also, is the first link THE thinkoutside universal bt keyboard that's always being talked about, or am I looking at something different?
Aside from the folding and extra row of keys, are there any other differences between those 2 models?

Thanx a bunch for any replies!

Yeah, I saw that thread already, but I still need help with those 2 models at least ^_^

The ThinkOutside is the "standard", when it comes to BT keyboards for the Axim. You will not be disappointed.

XTBTUE is the older model, the one that has been talked about a lot here. It is the one with four rows of keys--missing a dedicated number row

SBT5E is the newer model, the "Sierra" that has five rows of keys, including the number row. it is a bit thicker than the other when folded.

I have the four row model and am very happy with it--I wanted something ultra-compact and I don't type numbers much. I've read good reviews of the new, five-row model, too.

I bought mine from NewEgg and had good service; I saw on the forums here, however, that CompUSA offers it for a lower price at times. YOu might want to check that.

I have used my original (4 row) BT Think Outside keyboard for almost a year with both Palm OS and my Axim and I love it.

I see, so older isn't necessarilly worse ^_^

It looks like everyone's pointing to the XBThingmajigger, so I think that's the one I'll get.

So it comes down to whether I need the number key or not. I must say though the 4-row one looks nicer, and a bit thinner is good too.

Using it over a year eh? Good to hear that it lasts

Thanx, I'll go for the 4-row one! (the one most BT KB users have)

If you haven't bought one yet go to the blog: jkontherun and search for a several-months-old review of an outstanding (their view) folding keyboard with the full five rows. This keyboard's been taken up by Mobility (the iGo maker) and it gets high marks from one of the bloggers who uses it every day. About $80-95, unless on sale. I think it is also called the Stowaway, which is confusing as there are two versions of keyboards with this name. This all by memory without my having checked out the links...

That's a good blog for mobile stuff, by the way.

I am another very happy customer with the XTBTUE (4 row) model.

I recently bought the Think Outside Sierra, as I really like the number row instead of hitting a function key. I bought mine for $68, and you can find them doing a Google search for under $70.
