Extendend Battery + Case = ?
I was looking at purchasing an extended battery off ebay because of the massive drop in price from dell. My first question is how good are these batterys? Well they may not be the official dell ones $15 or less is mighty tempting. My next question is would these "ebay" batteries work with an extended battery case? Is the back cover the same as the dell one? Assuming I bought a 2200 mAh battery of course. Anyone have and experience with this? Maybe post a pic of how far the battery sticks out the back?

I bought a battery off e-bay, just do not remember who I bought it from. It came with a "door" for the battery. The only problem I have had is that the door catches do not hold tight and I get the message "Battery door was opened, etc". The latch LOOKS closed but the movement is so small but enough to cause the error message. If you search this site you will find some solutions to that problem which seems to be rather widespread.

This is where I bought my battery. No problems at all, works perfect. Went to Ebay and bought this case with the extended battery back.

Hmm I might buy mine off global batteries, how was the service? No problems with the battery? Only $14 off their site currently. And to in addition the case you posted was the same one I was looking for also on sale off the rhino skin website for $20. Good case? Might order both soon ...... why would anyone buy their batteries straight from dell

I bought a 2200 mAh battery from http://www.batteryupgrade.com/

It arrived within a couple of days (I live in DK - it was shipped in somewhere in Asia). Very impressive.

The battery and the new battery door makes the Axim 6-8 mm thicker where the battery sits. Not a problem when holding it, but it does become bulkier in the pocket. Not as good looking, but it's difficult to get everything.

The battery has plenty of power, although it sometimes doesn't know it. It believes it's about to close down the unit, but I usually ignores it. Stupid thing.

I use the standard case and it works ok.

Generally I am satisfied.

I have no problems with the battery, door latches and everything. Not sure how long it took to get to me, but can't imagine it was very long, I only owned the Axim for about a month. It does extend the back a bit, but that is why I bought the rhino case with the extended back. A hard case that fits nicely around my Axim.
