dell bluetooth gps navteq on board won't charge

Hello,

I have had an axim x50v for a couple of years with the navteq on board gps device.
Unfortunately, a short time after I got it, the in car bluetooth gps receiver stopped holding a charge. It just stopped all of a sudden, is there anything I can do?

Can I replace the battery some how? If so, where can I get one?

If it’s not under warranty still then try opening it. I don't now what your receiver looks like but it is probably similar to mine. I have a navteq unit BT-309 & there are four screws on the bottom. If yours is similar, removing the screws should give you access to the battery. Sorry, but I am not going to take mine apart because it is still under warranty. Then just try googling the battery to find a replacement.

if its still under warranty and u have the BT-309 one, exchange it and u'll get the newer Dell BT GPs that has a (accessible)-removable battery and a way better GPS fix/signal
