Powerpoint remote?

I have the axim x51v with the presentation package. It's great that you can hook a VGA connector onto the axim, but then the unit gets sort of immobilized. I was wondering if there is a remote (like the margi presentation-to-go) for the x51v.

Thanks

It is not cheep but iGo has a product that will do it. It is the iGo Pitch Duo. You can dump the presentation package for the Axim. With the Pitch Duo you bluetooth it and the Pitch Duo actually does the video work. It is small etc and close to $300 list. It is only money.

You can use a bluetooth keyboard with arrow and PgUp and PgDn keys to work most software through keys (works for me!)

Customized software (a la PocketSlides) also allow infrared remote controls to advance slides at least within their program.

Thanks for this.

It seems like a stupid little bluetooth powerpoint remote MUST exist. I just can't find one.

the iGO thing is cool, but doing a presentation like that seems clumsier than using a laptop.

The advantage I see to the iGo unit is that you are not tied to the podium. The notes are in the palm of your hand. I like that. I could stand free on a stage, wireless, and still have all the data in my hand. But is it worth $300? Not for me yet. For now I just use a wireless switcher with my laptop. But I am thinking about it.

That's a good point. I work for an audio visual company, so money isn't an issue.

sounds like we will get some. I'll let you know how it works out.

I am very interested. I do a lot of presentation work and have been debating about getting this item. I have never seen them in practice. I like the idea a lot.

You need any small bluetooth USB device. Personally, I use my Sony phone - it has a HID profile on it which I can control my x51v. Otherwise, there are some small card sized bluetooth keyboards - search under keyboard mini bluetooth on google. They're about 50-60 bucks...so not too bad.
