WARNING: Innopocket Magnesium Case destroyed my Axim's screen
http://www.aximsite.com/boards/showthread.php?t=142502]PREVIOUS DISCUSSION

I have confirmed that my Innopocket Magnesium case has destroyed my Axim X50v's screen. Now there's a huge rectangular "pressure area" as the previous poster described, but mine is permanent. I had originally put an SD card inside of my innopocket and had a Brado Ultraclear screen protector.

I am seriously upset that an item that was meant to PROTECT my Axim's screen ended up hurting it badly. In my opinion, Innopocket should be held accountable and should have done some research on their product before selling it.

My Innopocket Mag case is about 1 1/2 years old and I'm not sure if they've made any revision (probably not).

I've tried to take a picture of the damage, but it's not coming out in photos or videos.

This really sucks.

how odd. my case saved my ax any number of times. I did notice that over the course of time the impression of the card and its slot on the scree. I chalked it up to the age and compression of the foam on the lid. I was concerned about possible damages, so I removed the slot from the lid completely.

on first thout the most likely scenerio was a not completely inserted card being forced against the screen. I've had users bring me laptops with broken screens... none of then knew how or why it was broken. sure looked like a pen was left on the keyboard....

I noticed this problem too and stopped storing my spare card in the case early on. I agree...it seems strange that something to protect the axim can actually damage it! Shame, because otherwise this is a great case.

It has always seemed strange to me that cases have the option to store sd cards right next to the screen. I tried it for awhile with my Sena case, but after only a few days there were obvious wear marks on the screen protector caused by the sd card. I don't think it is smart to put anything on the inside of the case next to the screen.

How can companies get away with this crap?

A crystal case that I had for my Sony Ericcson W810i ended up damaging the screen by allowing dirt to "pit" into it.

This is just outrageous! Companies should be legally liable for this kinds of things. Argh.

haven't noticed any problem on my x51v with extra SD card in it. Could it just be a bad case-meaning a flawed one, like a flawed shirt with an extra button? did you try emailing them? good luck!

Thanks for the warning. I used the SD slot once but found it really tight so have never used it since. I've got a spare pocket in my wallet I use instead.

You know, I just checked my Inno and I can see a bit of outline of my sd card on the screen .. just a little . I don't use a screen protector (although i probably should) - now this is something to worry about.

Still love my case though.

If only they made an Inno Mag for the extended battery (2200 anyways)!

It seems to be too widespread to be considered a one-time case, based on the feedback fromthis thread and those from the other thread.

I tried my Ax once in the case and it seemed too tight for comfort so I went over to Rhino.

I noticed the same problem with the innocase almost immediately after buying it. If I closed the case with the axim on I'd notice that the weather console for pocket weather was active. The only time the weather console is activated is when you touch the today screen (I have pocketweather as on my today screen). So I tried putting the SD card in the slot and after closing the case deliberately pressing down slightly - and sure enough there the weather console was again.

For the people who got the 'pressure marks', did anyone see any rainbowing of the screen (like an oil drop on a puddle of water)? Did it go away?

I have the same case, noticed the same thing, no longer carry an SD card in the slot, etc... The pressure marks did go away (for me)...
