skype + BT headsets +x51v: which ones work?

Hi, I've seen various threads about bluetooth headsets and a few about skype.

However, the main bluetooth headset thread only seems to talk about listening to music and not to using skype.

The choices are betrween using motorola HT 820 and Sony DR-BT30Q

this seems to mention some HT 820/skype problems.

I couldn't figure out; how do you charge the battery for these headsets?

My main use is for skype, not for listening to music.

What about using the standard 3.5mm jack?

I'm a little concerned about the power issue.

Finally someone said on HT 820 it had a standard stereo jack when the power is all drained. You can hook it up wired. Is this useful/practical?

I'm curious how many people are actually using skype on a regular basis with x51v? What headset are you using and comfortable with?

The Plantronics 665 explorer is the best I have ever used for any device (currently my X51v) I reccomand that for its size and sound quality, it their highest end model, I bought mine from Amazon for $80 something. The 655 is also good to, its a bit cheaper...

The Plantronics 640 has also just been 'discontinued'.. so you may get some very cheep ones floating about (and it is very nice)

I've been using a Motorola HS850 with my Skype (x51v and PC) and my cell phone with nice results. I have a Y-splitter for my cell phone charger that charges the cell phone and the HS850 at the same time.

I first did some testing with a wired headset, just some cheap set that came with my cell phone and they worked with no problem. I used an adapter from Radio Shack (2.5mm -> 3.5mm).

I have no problems using skype in my Axim with Sony DR-BT30Q. I need to install Widcomm stack for headset profiles. With Microsoft stack I can only get stereo profile. Sound quality will degrade when using headset profile.

A followup:

Shady: Why are profiles important for bluetooth? Why are stacks important? I mean, I don't want to mess too much with drivers that may affect the stability of the machine.

(I thought I remembered reading somewhere that Widcomm was for X50v, not the x51v).

so basically Plantronics 665 explorer is the best if I need it only for skyping.
And the Sony DR-BT30Q if I want to double as a headphone for music.

And I could always get a wired solution as a backup.

Ok, that's good feedback. Now to decide which is more important.
