Any danger to Axim from cases with magnetic closers?

I just received as a gift a Dell leather Axim case with a belt clip. It looks and feels great but it has a magnetic snap.

Any problem with putting a magnet so close to the Dell Axim? The person who gave me the case had it for his own Dell Axim but he gave up on his Axim because it was behaving so badly. Could it be that the magnetic closure device wrecked his Dell Axim?--Bob

I have the Dell leather case w/ a fairly strong magnetic closure and have noticed no problems, but, like you, it has given me pause. I'm looking forward to other replies.

Perhaps the most popular axim case on all of aximsite, the Sena case, is unique in it's magnetic closure. I personally have owned one for around a year and I love it. Use it and love it!

small magnets are not strong enough to cause any damage even to hard drives. to really cause any damage you would need to have laboratory type of magnet, probably the size of a bookshelf.

Hey rmj03

I also have the Dell Leather Axim case, at first I thought the magnetic snap was very strong and may effect the use, but so far have had no effects in regards to performance or anything. It is a nice case though.

Cheers

Jace

Do a search and you'll see this issue was discussed many times before. There is no problem with these tiny magnets being near the Axim or flash memory. The success of the Sena case is proof positive.

I have a Piel-Frama case for my X5, and this case has a very strong magnet in the back. HP includes a clear flip cover with magnetic latch with some of its models, such as the hx4700 series.

I have several Sena cases and none of them cause any problems. I had tried various cases but none of them can top Sena cases for me.

NO.

not unless you use 5.25" floppies in conjunction with your Axim.
