Extended battery?
What kind of battery life increase do people get out of this (the 2200mA one)? Are they safe to buy not-from-dell?

Is the 2200mA one the one that makes the back stick out by a lot more?

Do you know of any pictures about with one fitted?

I don't think the second one is for the x50/51... but the first one is the one i've got. It does stick out but comes with its own battery cover. You'll probably need a new case (if you use a case)

There is also a 3rd party 3300 battery... but that thing is Huge,,,,

Hi,

With just a quick measurement, it looks like it sticks out about 6 - 7mm beyond the back.

I love my extended battery; I even have a 3300mah. Also, I have a Dell battery and one from ebay - no problems at all with the one from ebay (much cheaper also).

Good Luck -

Hi,

Here is a link to PocketSolutions - they show just how "large" the extended (2200mah) battery is going to be.

Hmm, that might be a little too thick for my liking. Is the 1800mA battery worth the upgrade at all? Is the XXXXmA directly proportional to battery life?

This seems good in size.

Hi,

Glad I could help - I don't know about the 1800mah battery at all. I know that it isn't much bigger than the 1100mah. Hoever, I'm somewhat of a "power hog".

I don't mind the extra size of the bigger batteries - I recently purchased a Sena Case for my X51v (for extended battery) and I really like the combination.

Good Luck -

Do you think there is any risk in using a "cheap battery"? I have found one on ebay for $10.00, usually they cost $40.00 or so I've seen?

I've been using a "cheap" 2200 bought of Ebay for more than a year with no issues.

I bought a 2200mah 2 weeks ago from global-batteries.ca for$15.95 CAN
plus $9.00 delivery and it works fine,so far it looks like about 50 to 60%
increase in up time but I sync a fair amount and it is hard to be accurate
with the increase.
It comes with new battery cover also.

Here are some pictures that I have taken of the different batteries.

Picture 1: A Dell 1100mah compared to a Dell 2200mah
Picture 2: A Dell, Mugen, and Ebay 2200mah battery. I really like the Ebay one and it was very inexpensive. The Mugen one was my second purchase (after the Dell), and I wasn't inpressed with the packaging (but it works fine).
Picture 3: Basically the same as Picture 2 - just a different view.
Picture 4: A Mugen 3300mah battery in Axim x51v.
Picture 5: Mugen 3300mah battery without cover.

I have had absolutely no problems from the Ebay 2200mah battery - from seller access_power for $7.50 + $4.99 shipping. The Mugen 2200mah battery was about triple that price when I purchased it.

I hope this all helps -
Pam
