CF card query

I have an Axim X51 v and a Lexar Platinum II 2Gb 80x Speed Compact Flash Card. I use said CF card for my portable music library, and it is approaching 2 Gb. My question is this, can the X51 v use a larger CF card, and if so where can I find one.

I looked in the owners manual and didn't see anything about size restrictions, just what sizes of cards were available.

There are multple threads around here, one listing all compatible CF cards and I've seen folks using ones up to 16Gb. I plan on getting a 16 Gb one as soon as the price comes down a bit.

The Ax can use any size CF card, it's the SD cards that one must be careful with.

yup, like all said, it can sue ANY size cf card.

on where to get one.
!important! DO NOT under any circumstances, get a cf or any type of stroage card off of ebay. most are counterfit.

i would recommend www.newegg.com . i have spend thousands of $$ with them, and they have proven themselves to be a top notch company, with great customer support/service.

Ok...I'll also check out Tiger Direct....I have bought some equipment from them (the computer I'm on actually) and have very few (if any) complaints.

@aximbigfan: I've purchase three SD cards from Ebay, and I'm pleased with all of them. The two Sandisks I purchased were genuine, and the el-cheapo 2 GB noname works for what I need it to (though not as reliable as the Sandisks: it needs to be inserted and removed several times before the Ax finds it). If you want, I can post the names of the sellers.

Sure I looked around at Tiger, but the prices on the 4 Gig ones were a little out of my price range. If I can find it cheaper on ebay or newegg or something like that I wouldn't mind.

How about a 32GB compact flash card A-DATA on a x50 running WM2003 SE? Will it work?

Yes, the CF card slot has no limit. The controller is in the CF card itself, not in the Ax as is the case with SD cards. (yes, I know this is not 100% accurate but it is close enough)

I beg to differ, due to the file system of the Ax, it is restricted to a 32 Gb CF card. Ax will not read SDHC, but standard SD up to 32 Gb should be fine, as they don't exist, it shouldn't be a problem. The largest standard SD card i could find was 4 Gb and it works fine!

I bought a standard 4 GB SD card (Sandisk) for my X51v (was running out of room on the 2 GB), BUT, my PDA won't read the card! I upgraded to the latest Mobile 5 ROM, but still no cigar.
WHAZZUP? Help? Advice?
Thanx. LongJnSilver

Check the Card, if it is SDHC it won't work without an added driver.
If it is an SD card let us know and then we can sort out the problem.
